Parents

Educating your daughter is a partnership between home and School, and we value our parents as important members of the School community. The School uses a variety of communication channels to share information with parents and students, such as the Weekly Parent Update communications during the school year, social media channels, and SaintsNet (a password-protected website for students, parents, faculty and staff).

Buddy Families

Each new student in grades 1-12 will be assigned a buddy family during the summer. Buddy families will become your point of contact for transitioning into our School family. Early Learners, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten room parents will serve as the main point of contact for families new to the School.

Parents’ Association

All parents automatically become members of the Parents’ Association (PA) and are welcome to attend monthly board meetings. The PA works to further the School's Mission through building community with parents, students, faculty and staff. The PA actively recruits volunteers, organizes parent information and hosts events and special activities, some of which are in coordination with St. Christopher's School. The Parent Enrichment Series is one example of a joint event in which guest speakers enrich our parent population with relevant topics about raising and educating children. In addition, The PA runs the School's largest fundraiser and friendraiser - Daisy Days - a spectacular Spring Carnival held each April. There are many different ways a parent can get involved in Parents' Association, and we hope you will join us!

Welcome Committee

The School has Welcome Chairs for each division to help new families transition into the community through a variety of communications and events. In addition, the School sends each new family a Welcome Brochure in the early summer with important information, tips, terms and dates to help new families navigate their St. Catherine's experience.

Sharing your gifts — a tradition at St. Catherine's

You can volunteer as much or as little as you like. When opportunities arise, take them! Being on campus is the best way to get to know our faculty, staff and students while showing your daughter the importance of giving back to her community. Volunteer opportunities include interacting with your daughter’s classroom, chaperoning field trips, and participating in fundraising, Daisy Days and various committees that promote student programs and parent enrichment. Stay tuned for more information from the Parents’ Association in the fall.

In addition to giving your time, we hope you will also support our fundraising efforts. St. Catherine’s is fortunate to have strong financial support from families, alumnae and friends who are dedicated to helping us provide girls and young women with the best possible educational experience. We hope you will respond when asked to participate in Annual Giving, which impacts every aspect of School life. All girls benefit from our community’s overwhelming generosity.

Saints Athletics Boosters

The Athletic Boosters consist of volunteer parents who spread school spirit and support our coaches and student-athletes. Through concessions at games, the annual golf tournament and membership dues ($35/family), the Athletic Boosters fund many special projects for the athletics programs. Recent examples include funding the new scoreboards, video equipment, championship banners, coaches awards and “The Edge” athletic yearbook.
