A graduate of an all-girls school, Jennifer truly knows the value of the girls' school experience. As Director of Admissions, she works with all ages of prospective students from our youngest applicants in the Early Learners (age 3) program to applicants to the Upper School. Prior to joining St. Catherine's in 2009, Jennifer was a school counselor in Richmond City Public Schools for ten years and was the Assistant Head of the Lower School at the Steward School for five years. The highlight of her day is walking to campus in the early morning and greeting the girls as they arrive.

Adrienne Taylor '00
Associate Director of Admissions, Lower School (Early Learners - Grade 4)
Adrienne loves sparkly shoes just as much as the girls. Adrienne came to St. Catherine's in 2004 after three years in Hamilton College’s Admissions Office organizing personal visits and larger programs, interviewing applicants, and representing the college at various events. At St. Catherine’s, she has worked with all grade levels and was involved in both day and boarding admissions. Currently, she works with St. Catherine’s youngest applicants and their families and is happy to share the joyful learning happening in the Center for Early Childhood Education and the exploration happening in the Lower School classrooms. In addition, Adrienne is involved with the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) Admission Group, is a regional volunteer with the Hamilton Alumni Recruitment Team (HART), and sits on SCAN’s Board of Young Professionals.

Ashley Hewlett
Associate Director of Admissions, Middle School (Grades 5-8)
Ashley is the mom of two young girls and loves spending time with her family. Ashley has been an educator for 14 years serving as an English teacher and specialty center coordinator. She is very excited to join the St. Catherine’s family this year. With previous experience in admissions and program coordination, Ashley is looking forward to meeting new families, hosting fun events, and working with Middle School girls.

-Ashley is a published children’s book author of "Cailey’s Best Day." Her love of reading and writing fueled the opportunity to make a dream come true.

Whitney Shelton
Associate Director of Admissions, Upper School (grades 9-12)
Whitney came to St. Catherine’s in July of 2006 after teaching at Beaver Country Day School in Boston and working in Admissions at Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, N.J. Having experienced a coordinate program for her undergraduate degree, Whitney knows first-hand what it is to experience the “best of both worlds.” Whitney loves to see St. Catherine’s collaborating with St. Christopher’s to provide distinctive programs and opportunities that bring girls and boys together. Also a current parent, Whitney can attest to the benefits of an all-girls experience. She feels there is nothing better than watching girls develop confidence and a love of learning that is fostered in a way that is unique to girls.

Mary is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Alexandria and Sewanee. A strong believer in Independent Schools, Mary spent 10 years working in the admission office at The Langley School in McLean. Most recently, Mary managed the marketing and communication for High Hampton, a residential club and hotel in Cashiers, N.C., where she saw the project from its infancy to completion.
