I enjoy raising funds to create better educational opportunities for today’s young women.” Career goals: “I am energized to oversee and continue the strong development program that has been built at St. Catherine’s for the past 25 years to further improve educational programs for young women today. I also want to help the school partner with other Richmond organizations in serving and working with the youth of our community.” The best advice you have ever received: “Recognize that you can learn more about yourself and become a stronger person from the disappointments and setbacks you experience than from the successes you achieve.” The most difficult situation faced on the job: “Launching a $36 million capital campaign and having the economy collapse three months later. We proceeded with our efforts recognizing that our timeline would be extended and that our potential donors would be more cautious with their funding decisions. The path to success has been challenging, but the result of our decision has paid off as we are close to reaching our goal.” Career tip for students: “Follow your passion in the career you choose. You will find great joy and satisfaction working where your interests are met, particularly since so much of your time will be spent in your career.” What motivates you? “I am motivated by working with and for today’s youth. I am also energized by setting specific goals and priorities that can be measured.” Role model: “A lead volunteer with whom I work. She is very bright, has a high level of integrity, maintains a demanding job, is raising a family and is strongly committed to giving back to our local community through service to numerous nonprofit organizations.” Family: “My husband, three daughters, two sons-in-law and one grandson.” Pastimes: “biking, crossword puzzles, exercise and needlework.” Favorite food or restaurant: “Italian food and salted caramel gelato.” Ideal vacation: “A trip to the beach with family and friends.”
