Battle to the End

Julie Dayton

Each and every player contributed to our 9-9 tie with Collegiate on Tuesday. Another strong wide spread scoring performance from six different players. Charlotte Sisk scored the tying goal with 1:30 left in regulation, shooting a beautiful free position shot. Chaney Mangenello won many of the second half draws which gave us the advantage to set the tone on the field. With a score of 6-3 at the half (Collegiate), the Saints fought back winning the second half 6-3, but unfortunately it was not enough to bring home the win. Helen Warner, who usually plays D-wing, stepped up and scored three goals at the attack wing position. Jordan Roman had huge saves in the net (9) keeping Collegiate off the board. This was truly a team effort, and this JV squad fought hard the entire game showing immense amounts of pride, heart, and determination leaving everything on the field. The coaching staff could not have been prouder of their performance.
