Class of 2017 Graduates

     St. Catherine’s School celebrated the Class of 2017 with the School’s official commencement exercise on May 27.
     Among the day’s honorees were June Scholar Schuyler Guare and June Queen Audrey Villanueva. June Scholar represents the top academic student in the class. June Queen is voted on by students, faculty and staff and is kept secret until announced at the Junior-Senior Banquet the night before graduation.
     The gift in honor of the Class of 2017 was presented during the service. The parents and grandparents gave a gift totally more than $200,000. The gift is in support of the Senior Lounge, Ellett commonest and the basement of Bacot.
     The ceremony concluded with the traditional Daisy Chain on the Green. This beloved tradition marks the transition of leadership from the Class of 2017 to the Class of 2017.  
 
 
 
Highlights of the Class of 2017:
  • 77 seniors received 280 college acceptances to 107 different colleges in 23 states and two foreign countries
  • 5 National Merit Distinctions 
  • 13 AP Scholar Distinctions
  • 16 Cum Laude Inductees
  • 13 Intensive Studies Scholars in the Arts, Global Engagement or STEM
  • 21 Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards won by seniors
  • 23 LIS championships and 15 state championships won during their Saints athletic careers
  • 11,557 hours of community service during their four years of Upper School
