Kate Oelkers, Schuyler Guare, Luisa Vosmik, and Lucy Wallace were honored by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Four members of the Class of 2017 were recently honored by the National Merit Scholars Program for their achievements on the PSAT.
Kate Oelkers was named a National Merit Semifinalist. Schuyler Guare, Luisa Vosmik, and Lucy Wallace were recognized as National Merit Commended Students. In October 2015 approximately 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP) by taking the PSAT exam.
Semifinalists represent the top one percent of test takers in their state. Oelkers will now compete for scholarships provided through the NMSP and may receive additional awards from colleges and universities. Commended students placed among the top five percent of the more than 1.6 million students who took the 2015 PSAT exam.
