Sarah Katz '11 Represents United States in Maccabi Games

Julie Dayton
Sarah Katz '11, and brother Ben, St. Chris '10 recently returned from the Maccabi Games 2013 in Tel Aviv.  Ben took bronze in the high jump, and silver as part of the USA 4 x 100 team. He also long jumped but did not place. Sarah won bronze with the 4 x 400 team. She tied for fourth place in the open 400.
Dr. and Mrs. Katz shared the experience with Ben and Sarah and report that the Israeli's hosted a great international event.....78 countries, about 8000 athletes, 1100 on Team USA all sports, 27 men and women on USA track and field.

In track and field, the Israel National team proved to be high level competitors.  A strong 2 day track event with marks and times equal to any D1 Collegiate level event and often better. "This tiny country was out to show itself to the world in a positive light and they knocked our socks off!" according to Sheelah Katz.

Ben and Sarah are currently members of the William and Mary track team. Congratulations!
