St. Catherine's nipped by Trinity Episcopal in LIS

David T Bloor
Trinity Episcopal won the LIS by 3 points over St. Catherine's.  The outcome was unknown until they presented the awards long after the final runner finished.  But also at the awards they presented 5 of St. Catherine's runners with All LIS honors (top 15): Ryley Ogden (4th), Ann Nicholson (7th), Liz Spruill (8th), Randall Ackerly (13th), and Connor Haynes (14th).  The Trinity girls ran an inspired race and are to be congratulated.  Maria Sison in 20th was our most improved runner on the Varsity.  Izzy LeBey (1st) led our JV team to a convincing victory.  The other team scorers were: Mary McCarthy (4th), Rachel Young (7th), Ashby Poindexter (8th), and Katie Hogan (9th).  Kate Lord was our most improved runner on the JV team.  This Friday we run the State Championship at Woodberry Forest where Bishop O'Connell, Trinity Episcopal, and Norfolk Academy will be our main competitors.
