Class of 2011 Graduates

The 59 members of the Class of 2011 became St. Catherine's newest alumnae Saturday morning.
     The rains stayed away as St. Catherine’s celebrated the Class of 2011 Saturday morning with graduation.
     The 59 members in the class became the newest alumnae following the ceremony on the Green.
     Among the day’s honorees were Bridget Shaia, the June Scholar. She gave an address to her classmates as well as the other guests in attendance, talking about her experience at St. Catherine’s and the bond she shares with her fellow Class of 2011 graduates.
     Rachel Boykin was voted as the June Queen, a long-standing school tradition dating back to founder Virginia Randolph Ellett. June Queen is voted on by students, faculty and staff and is kept secret until it was announced Friday night at the Junior-Senior Banquet.
     The gift in honor of the Class of 2011 was presented by Scott and Lilo Ukrop, parents of Polly Ukrop. The parents and grandparents gave a gift passing $760,000 to name the Bacot Reception Room in honor of the Class of 2011.
     The ceremony concluded with the traditional Daisy Chain on the Green. During this activity during which the chain and leadership of the school was symbolically handed from the Class of 2010 to the Class of 2011.
