Class of 2010 Graduates

The St. Catherine's community came together Saturday morning for the Class of 2010 Commencement.
The clouds broke Saturday morning just as the Class of 2010 became the newest graduates of St. Catherine's School.
The 60 members of the class celebrated their graduation Saturday on the Green with their family, friends, faculty and staff joining in the day's festivities.
Among the honored students was Jennet Dickinson, who was named June Scholar as the student with the highest academic achievement in the class. She presented a valedictory address talking about the accomplishments of the Class of 2010, how far they've come along and their futures.
Sydney Schreiner was honored as June Queen, a long-standing school tradition dating back to founder Virginia Randolph Ellett. June Queen is voted on by students, faculty and staff and was announced Friday night at the Junior-Senior Banquet.
The gift in honor of the Class of 2010 was presented by Jimmy Rose, father of Caroline Rose. The parents and grandparents of the graduating students raised more than $800,000 and will name the new café in honor of the Class of 2010. It will be called Café 2010 (pronounced twenty-ten). A gift was made in honor of each graduate for 100 percent participation, a rare feat for graduating classes.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional Daisy Chain during which the chain and leadership of the school was symbolically handed from the Class of 2010 to the Class of 2011.
