St. Catherine's wins Norfolk Academy Invitational

The Saints traveled to Norfolk Academy to win both the Varsity and JV competitions against 10 other schools.  The important scores were against LIS rival Norfolk Academy.  In the Varsity it was St. Catherine's 263, Norfolk Academy 124 and in the JV the score was St. Catherine's 187, Norfolk Academy 48.  In the Varsity meet Tiana Douglas had the biggest breakthrough defeating Ameen from NAc for the first time in the 100 Hurdles and coming back to take the 300 Hurdles.  Another breakthrough was Mary Frances Buoyer's 3 inch improvement in the HJ.  Laura Kerr won both the 400 and 200 and Hannah Whitworth won the 100 with a PR and finished 2nd to Laura in the 200.  In the SP Spencer Blanton just missed 30 feet with her best of 29-9 and two girls broke 70 feet in the discus (Andrea Joel - 74-11, Kate mcDowell - 71-4).  Taylor Clevinger set a PR in the 1600 (5:16.47) and also won the 800.  Kyle Johns continues to set PRs with a new one and a 1st place in the 3200.  In the JV meet Maya Jackson won the 400 with an impressive PR of 69.52 and Charlotte Cross continues to dominate the hurdles and the TJ.  Whitney Busch takes the 800 with a typical come from behind finish.
