4-Game Winning Streak

Saints finish the regular season with a 4-game winning streak.  The week started with senior day against St. Margaret's.  Saints got on the board in the 3rd inning when Mackenzie Furman reached on a hit to centerfield and then Stephanie Fort followed with a homerun shot to center.  In the 5th inning, Laura Whitworth led off with a hit to centerfield.  Mackenzie followed with a walk and Fort hit a double for her third hit of the game.  Jane Starnes also picked up a hit in that inning.  Emma Robbins picked up her first varsity career hit in the bottom of the 6th inning.  Defensively, Fort struck out 11 and Laura played excellent defense at 2nd.  Jane also made an outstanding catch in centerfield in the 7th inning. 
Saints traveled to STAB to seek revenge on a 1-0 loss at the beginning of the season.  Saints got on the board quickly as Fort hit a hard double to left.  Stephanie Stinson picked up a RBI.  Fort also hit a double in the top of the 3rd  and scored on a double from Jane Starnes.  Jane later scored on a passed ball.  Luck also scored in the 4th on a hit from Laura.  Fort again had 11 strikeouts.  Smart plays from Stephanie Stinson, Laura, and Sarah Luck held STAB to one run.
Saints traveled to Flint Hill for the first meeting ever of the two teams.  Flint Hill was ranked #6 in the State going into the competition.  Fort, Jane, Stinson led off the inning with 3 straight walks.  Fort later scored on a passed ball.  Luck then hit a shot to right to empty the bases.  One more run scored with the patience of Mackenzie at the plate to draw a walk with bases loaded.  Jane kept the runs coming in the 2nd with a lead-off walk.  Stinson, Audrey Fain, and Luck followed with 3 straight hits to score 2 more runs.  Saints settled in with a 6-run lead.   Excellent plays at 1st base by Stinson and the return of Graceann Pike at 2nd were crucial to the 6-2 win.
