Early Learners Create a Feel Good Box
Our youngest students learned tools to help them handle their emotions.
The Early Learners received their own My Feel Good Box during their morning meeting yesterday. The boxes contained a glitter jar, a stress ball and a heart pillow they helped make. They will take the boxes home today.
The students listened to a video in which EL teacher Mrs. Jernigan narrated the book, "My Big Feelings" by Lisa Tynan. They talked about what to do when your feelings become too big and how to calm yourself down — helping them learn self-regulation skills. The girls practiced doing horse breaths and lion breaths - kid-friendly ways to inhale and exhale to calm down.
