Saints lose to St. Gertrude

The JV Softball team continued its improvement in a 22-3 defeat to St. Gertrude. The Saints are gaining experience and confidence that will only help them in future games.
This time out, St. Catherine's hit the ball well. Sarah Hancock had a solid base knock into rightfield. Aiza Chaudhry produced the team's first RBI of the season on a groundout with a runner on third. Lucy Wallace and Claire Moore scored the other two runs.

Almost every Saints player put the bat on the ball despite facing four talented pitchers.

Defensively, the Saints have work to do, but the team is determined to improve. However, Von Chalmers, perhaps the team's most improved player to this point, made several impressive plays at third base. Von caught a tough liner and also fielded a smash grounder to record an out.

Charlotte Camp and Lindsay Everhart pitched and continue to get better. With three games next week, the Saints have ample opportunities to up their game performance.
