Founded in 1890, St. Catherine's is located on a picturesque 16-acre campus in the western part of the city and enrolls approximately 950 girls age 3 through grade 12.

  • Early Learners After School Teacher

    St. Catherine’s School seeks two (2) creative and flexible teacher for its Early Learners After-School Care Program, a special opportunity for the School’s youngest students to explore enriching learning experiences after the regular school day. General hours of this position include approximately 3 ½ hours/day, Monday-Thursday, and 4 hours on Friday during the academic year, with special hours as needed for meetings and professional development.

    Supervisor: Head of Lower School and Early Childhood and Assistant Head of Early Childhood

    Position Status: PT, non-exempt, regular, 9-month

    Hours of Work: 3.5 hours/day, Monday-Thursday, and 4 hours on Fridays during the academic year

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Create and implement lessons in alignment with the Early Learner curriculum and foster student growth in academic, social, and emotional areas
    • Organize enrichment opportunities that include arts and crafts and indoor and outdoor play
    • Actively monitor student behavior and support developmentally appropriate social skills
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Lower School Administration and the Early Childhood team
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding Aftercare program logistics and schedule
    • Attend assigned staff meetings and professional development training as needed

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience working with young children required; preferred bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • Creative, flexible thinker who is curious about best practices and innovative approaches in education
    • Energetic, professional, and hard-working
    • Patient, kind, and dedicated to a relational teaching approach
    • Highly motivated with deep appreciation and passion for working with young children
    • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work outdoors in inclement weather conditions

  • Bus Driver (Part Time)

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    St. Catherine's School is accepting applications for School Bus Drivers. Applicants with Class A or Class B CDL, with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements with a minimum of three years' driving experience are preferred. Responsibilities include driving students along daily shuttle route and day trips. Maintaining assigned bus in a safe, clean, professional manner is a must. Employment is subject to successful background check and physical evaluation.
     
    Requirements
    Core responsibilities of the Bus Driver include:
    • Pre-trip the vehicle properly.
    • Have bus fueled and ready to go 15 minutes prior to departure time
    • Properly fill out time sheet and mileage reports after each drive
    • Have reputable driving background
    • Must possess a Class B CDL with Passenger “P” and “Air Brake” Endorsements.
    • Must not have an air brakes restriction
    Note: Drivers must be able to work various shifts per week.

  • Groundskeeper

    St. Catherine’s School seeks a full-time Groundskeeper to work as part of the team maintaining the grounds of the School. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting team members with installing and maintaining turf, pruning shrubs, planting various forms of vegetation, leaf removal, snow removal, and maintaining the overall grounds of the Grove campus. Serving as a coach for one or more sports for additional compensation is encouraged. 

    Supervisor: Facilities Manager 

    Position Status: Hourly, nonexempt, full-time, 12 months 

    Hours of Work: Standard work week. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Nothing contained in this position description restricts St. Catherine’s School’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time. 

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
    • Operation and repair of irrigations systems is preferred. 
    • Mow, water, fertilize, weeding, spreading mulch, and cleaning the grounds. 
    • Remove snow from roads, sidewalks, and steps. 
    • Remove leaves from property via leaf blower and/or leaf vacuum. 
    • Operate landscaping equipment, such as zero turn, walk behind, push mower, weed trimmers, and blowers. 
    • Erect, move or break down outdoor structures for special events such as tents, pavilions, bleachers, goals, etc. 
    • Ability to lift and carry groundskeeping supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis. 
    • Prolonged walking or standing, and frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching on a daily basis. 
    • Good teamwork and cooperation are essential. 
    • Self-motivation and the ability to operate independently. 
     
    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 
    • Associate degree in horticulture is preferred. 
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required and a minimum of two years of experience in groundskeeping. 
    • Knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used implanting, cultivating and trimming a variety of types of trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers and grasses. 
    • Knowledge of the use and proper disposal of chemicals used in groundskeeping (horticulture, turf management and floriculture) is preferred.

    The Substitute Teacher is an educational professional who replaces regular teachers for a short period of time (e.g. a week, or month) or longer in certain cases. The Substitute Teacher will ensure the lesson plan is followed and the classroom is managed according to the standards of the division and school. The Substitute Teacher should seek to establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and other faculty/staff members; seek to collaborate effectively with other faculty/staff members; and endeavor to support the school’s mission and core values. She or he will help to run classes smoothly and promote an effective learning environment .St. Catherine’s maintains a list of approved substitutes in each division.     Pay: The rate of payment for substitute teaching is $120.00 per day for a full day and $80.00 for a half day.
