  • Assistant Chaplain and Lower School Religion Teacher

    St. Catherine’s School seeks an Assistant Chaplain and Lower School Religion Teacher to serve as an integral part of the academic and spiritual leadership of the School. The primary purpose of this role is to enrich the spiritual life of the school through planning and leading school chapel services, teaching lower school religion classes, collaborating effectively with faculty and staff members, supporting the school’s mission and core values, and providing pastoral care to members of the school community. We seek candidates who have ordination or planned ordination in the Episcopal Church, hold a master’s degree in Divinity, among other qualities, and have experience in early childhood education.   • Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

    St. Catherine’s is on a journey to be a part of dismantling systemic racism. The School is committed to respecting, nurturing, and promoting diversity and its importance in the development of students and the well-being of the community. Our Path Forward, created this past summer, is a plan that prioritizes action and accountability in addressing inequity issues, dismantling oppression, and creating a welcoming, open, and safe community. The plan focuses on four pillars: Listening and Learning, Curricular and Community Education, Representation, and Equitable and Inclusive Campus Climate. A major component of this plan is to hire a full-time Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
     
    The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) will work with the administration, faculty, and students to carry out Our Path Forward and ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion are integrated throughout every aspect of the community and curriculum. In alignment with the School’s mission and core values, the Director will plan and execute new and existing organizational-wide DEI initiatives, professional development sessions, policies, and systems to foster inclusivity, diversity, and equity across campus. As a member of the senior administrative team, the Director must be a strategic leader who is passionate about DEI work and will work to strengthen and build holistic DEI strategy for St. Catherine’s.     St. Catherine's School is an Episcopal day school in Richmond, Virginia, founded in 1890 and enrolling over 979 girls in grades age 3 to grade 12. Located on a 16-acre campus in the western part of the city.  St. Catherine's core values include pursuing academic excellence, developing character, nurturing spiritual growth, celebrating individuals, and building community. The athletic program includes 42 teams in 14 sports with approximately 75% of students in grades 7-12 participating. We are looking for experienced coaches who are interested in a commitment to work within a very established program. 
     
    We are seeking coaching candidates who:
    Demonstrate strong leadership skills and effective communication skills
    Have proven head or assistant coaching experience and a record of success
    Understand and support the mission of the School
    Have the ability to work with different learning styles of students
    Have exceptional multi-tasking skills and strong organizational skills
    Have experience dealing with and building a partnership with involved parents
    Set a tone of professionalism among coaches, athletes and parents
    Are interested in the long-term building of program and working closely with other coaches
