Senior Honored at UNICEF Event

Noor Samee was recognized for her dedication to raising awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals.
Senior Noor Samee received the "Key to Global Happiness" award for her work toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at an event in New York City last month. Samee was selected by UNICEF for the award and was one of three students honored that day.
She received her award at an event to celebrate  International Day of Happiness and the #SmallSmurfsBigGoals campaign to help promote the SDGs among young people. Samee also helped UNICEF with social media and media interviews that day.
“I walked a blue carpet with Demi Lovato, Mandy Patinkin and Joe Mangienello before receiving the key and taking photos,” Samee said. “ I went to the General Assembly hall where 1500 model UN students sat in the audience. Demi Lovato gave a speech and then asked me to say a few words on what young people can do to promote the global goals through social media and blogging.”
