Four Seniors Earn National Merit Honors
Two seniors were named National Merit Semifinalists and two received a Letter of Commendation.
Seniors Sallie Lumpkin and Catelin Smith were recently named National Merit Semifinalists while seniors Parker Edmondson and Nadia Khan received a Letter of Commendation.
Approximately 16,000 high school seniors nationwide were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists for the Class of 2022. More than 1.5 million juniors entered the National Merit program by taking the PSAT, which serves as the initial screen of program entrants.
Semifinalists represent the top one percent of test takers in their state. To earn a Letter of Commendation, students must place in the top five percent in math, reading and critical thinking skills.
