Woodfin Named Leadership Award Nominee

Senior Eliza Woodfin was named the Lexus of Richmond’s 24th Leadership Award Nominee for Week 2.
     Lexus of Richmond’s week 2 nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Eliza Woodfin of St. Catherine’s School. With her current 4.23 GPA, Eliza has been on the Honor Roll or Head’s List every semester of high school. Eliza was recognized by the NFCA as an All American Scholar Athlete as a freshman and sophomore. In 2017 Eliza participated in the Ivy League Parent Teen Business Program at Harvard Business School, and she was involved in the Girl’s Advancing in STEM conference at Stanford. Recently Eliza was selected for Columbia University’s Summer Immersion Dean’s Leadership Award which is given to the top students in the program.
     In her time at St. Catherine’s Eliza has been involved in numerous activities and organizations. In 2017 she founded the school’s Chemistry Club. She has been a member of the Chinese Club since 2015, and she received recognition for the Youth Chinese Test 3 years in a row. From 2015 through 2017 Eliza was also a Student Ambassador for her school.
     Eliza has been a member of the indoor and outdoor track, cross country and softball teams while attending St. Catherine’s. On the indoor track team since 2016 Eliza is a captain for her senior season. In 2018 she was chosen for the All Metro 1st Team and received an All State Honorable Mention. Eliza joined the outdoor track team in 2018 and earned a spot on the All Metro 1st Team. Additionally in 2018 both the indoor and outdoor track teams won the LIS and State Championships. Outside of her school career, Eliza is a competitive skier on the Wintergreen Race Team. A part of this racing team since 2008, she traveled with the group to Austria in 2015 and 2017 for extended summer training.
    As a member of First Presbyterian Church, Eliza assists a fellow member family with sextuplets get to and from church every week. She has also been a preschool summer camp teacher at her church. She has spent time volunteering for organizations such as the Hilliard House, Caritas and Shalom Farms. In 2017 Eliza volunteered at iCan Shine Organization, and helped disabled children learn to ride bicycles.
     Eliza has won a dinner for two and is now in the running for the $10,000 scholarship.
