Gigi Rawles Miller 1975
Gigi was a 13-year student beloved by her classmates, both day and boarder. At St. C she cut her teeth as a member of American Field Service (AFS), Minority Scholarship Fund, Studio Art Committee, Ampersand and Lacrosse A team, all of which laid the groundwork for how she would live her adult life. Her easy nature and generous spirit belie her inner strength. This woman is a volunteering machine. Her service to St. Catherine’s is all the more remarkable because she has so many other calls on her time, but she seems to be “a girl who can’t say no.”

Gigi has led a life of service to countless causes and organizations. To name just some past and present affiliations: Member of Horizon Circle (in support of Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters); Junior League of Norfolk/Virginia Beach; Membership Chair for the Board of the Norfolk City Union of the King’s Daughters; Washington College Parents Council Co-Head w/ husband Shep 2011-2014; Hampden-Sydney College Parents Council (2006-2009); Sweet Briar College Parents Council (2008-2011); Chrysler Museum Board Member; Christ & St. Luke’s Church Flower Guild; “Coaches vs. Cancer” Planning Committee for September 2025 Gala in Norfolk; and the Old Dominion University Athletic Foundation Board.
Despite this involved commitment to her hometown of Norfolk, Gigi never forgot her alma mater, attending every Class Reunion, since 1985. She has also hosted a number of alumnae gatherings at her home in Norfolk, for which she personally prepared all of the delicious food. She has served on Reunion Committees, on the National Alumnae Board and on the Board of Governors, regularly trekking to Richmond for meetings. When she agrees to do something, she is not only “all in”, she is all grins, cheerfully shouldering the load as if she had nothing else to do. It is our honor to recognize Gigi Rawles Miller ’75 as the 2025 Outstanding Service Award.
