Music

Fueling Creativity, Community and Celebration

Our music programs fuel creativity, community and celebration. Our curriculum helps every student to develop the ability to express themselves artistically, connect with others and perform with confidence in any setting. Music provides a unique platform for learning about other cultures and connecting with people across the globe.

Ensembles in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools regularly take part in trips that expand each student’s horizon and enrich her musical journey.

  • Lower School

Beginning in Early Learners and evolving as students move through the Lower School, students have a range of ensemble options including choir, strings, band and more. It all culminates in our grade 4 musical every Spring.
  • Middle School

Students continue to develop music appreciation and vocabulary through a variety of general and elective music courses, as well as choral and instrumental ensembles.
  • Upper School

Students sharpen and refine their talents through a range of performing groups and courses in music theory and technology. Performing ensembles share the stage with students from St. Christopher’s School.

Private Music Lessons

In addition to classroom music, St. Catherine’s offers students an opportunity to study specific instruments privately. Members of the music faculty and adjunct instructors offer private instruction within St. Catherine’s music department.
