Father of Taylor Anderson '04 Talks to US Students
Andy Anderson told stories about Taylor Anderson, who was a victim of the earthquake/tsunami in Japan, and shared her dreams with St. Catherine's Upper School students on Monday.
At first Andy Anderson wasn’t sure what his message should be to the St. Catherine’s Upper School students. The father of Taylor Anderson ’04, who was a victim of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan last month, Anderson spoke to the students, faculty and staff during Monday morning’s service in Bannard Chapel. After the service, Anderson said he decided to focus on her Upper School years at St. Catherine’s, hoping the girls could see something of themselves in Taylor and that they too might be inspired to pursue their dreams. He also spoke about Taylor’s life, her passion for all things Japan and how she discovered her dream. Anderson told humorous stories about Taylor and how she could find the good in all situations. He showed photos, read from his daughter’s journal she kept while living in Japan and shared some of the Japan-related artwork she created while a student at St. Catherine’s. Later that morning, Upper School students hung the Tibetan prayer flag outside of Bannard Chapel
