Class of 2016 Graduates

The 85 members of the Class of 2016 became St. Catherine’s newest alumnae on Saturday morning.
St. Catherine’s School celebrated the 85 members of the Class of 2016 on Saturday with the School’s official commencement exercise.
Among the day’s honorees were June Scholar Isabelle Andrews and June Queen Lori Friend. June Scholar represents the top student in the class. June Queen is voted on by students, faculty and staff and is kept secret until announced at the Junior-Senior Banquet.
The gift in honor of the Class of 2016 was presented during the service. The parents and grandparents gave a gift totally more than $600,000. The gift is in support of the School’s annual fund and to help further enhances Wright Library.
Andrews delivered her June Scholar speech, delivering statistics for the Class of 2016. But they had nothing to do with test scores or college acceptances. Instead, Andrews conducted a survey of her classmates and told the story of their St. Catherine’s journey through the results.
“Be impressive and be impressed,” she said. “One-hundred percent of us will miss this place more than we know.”
The ceremony concluded with the traditional Daisy Chain on the Green. This beloved tradition marks the transition of leadership from the Class of 2016 to the Class of 2017.
