MS Students Spend Earth Day with Governor

Fifth graders worked with Governor McAuliffe at Pocahontas State Park.
A group of fifth grade girls celebrated Earth Day with a very special guest – Governor Terry McAuliffe.
     Students in Katherine Mangum’s fifth grade homeroom joined Governor McAuliffe, first lady Dorothy McAuliffe AmeriCorps volunteers and officials from Virginia State Parks and the Department of Conservation and Recreation at Pocahontas State Park In support of the Governor’s Conservation Initiative.
     The students worked with Governor McAuliffe and the other officials to create a monarch butterfly habitat.
     St. Catherine’s students attending the event were Jewell Cleveland, Olivia Head, Neely McDowell, Sage Polak, Mary Kate Richards, Cathryn Short, Katie Smith and Mimi White.
