St. Catherine’s School is pleased to offer full-time employees with a comprehensive benefits package along with a variety of professional development opportunities. In addition, full-time faculty and staff may be eligible for tuition remission at St. Catherine’s or St. Christopher’s Schools.
Summary of Employee Benefits for Full-Time Employees
Full-time employees work a minimum of 1,000 hours per year.

RETIREMENT PLAN
St. Catherine’s School participates in a 403(b) Defined Contribution Retirement Plan administered by TIAA. The School contributes 7.5% annual salary for eligible employees with a 1.5% dollar for dollar matching contribution when the employee contributes 1.5% of his or her salary. The total possible retirement contribution is 9.0% of the employee’s contract salary each year for employees at least 21 years of age who have completed one year of full-time employment with St. Catherine’s School or similar experience at another institution.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

St. Catherine's School participates in the Episcopal Church Medical Trust through Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia for medical and dental insurance coverage. We currently have access to 6 medical plans through this group. The School provides a fixed monthly supplement for those employees participating in these plans. St Catherine’s School also offers prescription coverage, vision coverage and behavioral health coverage.

DENTAL INSURANCE
Employees may choose from 3 dental plans currently offered. The School provides a fixed monthly supplement for those employees participating in these plans. The plans include Dental and Orthodontia, Basic Dental and Preventative Dental.

LONG TERM DISABILITY & PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

Long term disability and professional liability insurance are provided at no cost to the employee for a basic level of coverage. Additional coverage is available at the employees’ expense.

LIFE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT INSURANCE
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance are provided at no cost to the employee equal to 2 times the employee's annual salary. Additional supplemental coverage for the employee and their dependents is available to employees at their own expense.

PRE-TAX SAVINGS ACCOUNTS
Employees have the opportunity to participate in pre-tax savings accounts through either a dependent care flexible spending account, a medical flexible spending account or a health savings account, subject to respective IRS contribution limits.

TUITION REMISSION

Tuition remission of 65% for full-time faculty and staff members after one year of full-time employment. This applies to up to 2 children enrolled in St. Catherine’s School contingent upon budget availability and child’s enrollment. Please note that student admissions decisions are made independent of the employment process.

EXTENDED DAY
Employees receive full tuition remission for Extended Day services for the period of time up until the end of their regular workday. Extended Day assistance is subject to a waiting period of one year and is dependent on the availability of funding with the school budget.

SUMMER PROGRAMS
Employees are eligible to receive discounts on summer programs. Eligibility is based on becoming an instructor of the Brilliant Summer Program offered by St. Catherine’s School.

MEALS
Employees receive lunch at no expense while School is in session at St. Catherine’s School. Visitors for the day and guests of the School are welcome at any meal without charge.

VACATION
Vacation days are available to 12-month employees based on their job classification and continuous length of service. Vacation may be taken after six months employment with the approval of the employee’s supervisor. Full-time salaried employees who began work after 7/1/2013, with 12-month contracts earn 15 vacation days (120 vacation hours) annually to a maximum of 40 days (320 hours). Full time hourly employees earn 10 vacation days (80 vacation hours) annually to a maximum of 20 days (160 hours).

BEREAVEMENT/FUNERAL LEAVE
Sick time may be used for funeral leave.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
St. Catherine’s School will support professional development with job-related courses, conferences, workshops and participation in staff activities. Staff members who are interested in professional development should talk to their direct supervisor to inquire on the availability of funds. Each department maintains its own budgets for professional development.

ATHLETIC AND FITNESS CENTER
The Athletic and Fitness Center is open to employees subject to Athletic Department Rules and Guidelines.

RELOCATION / MOVING EXPENSE POLICY
St. Catherines School will provide reimbursement to new full-time employees who are relocating to the Richmond area as a result of their new position with the School. Consistent with IRS guidelines, the School’s reimbursement support applies only to required moves for new employees whose primary residence is located in excess of 50 miles from the St. Catherine’s School campus. The maximum gross amount paid to an employee with supporting documentation to a moving company shall not exceed $2,500.
