Special interest camps cover everything under the summer sun, including arts, athletics, academics, STEM and so much more! We allow for flexibility with half-day and full-day sessions plus extended day and lunch.

    Young Explorers Day Camp celebrates the younger child’s inherent curiosity and urge to play. With an emphasis on independence, children learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, seeing and hearing. Boys and girls age (4) to rising grade 1 are grouped by age and led by a certified teacher and an assistant to explore our discovery stations at their own level and pace. The uniquely designed environment stimulates learning, movement, and social interaction.

We will learn about the wonders of sea life through a variety of engaging activities. Young adventurers will dive into literacy in the morning by using their reading, spelling and writing skills. In the afternoon we will have a whale of a time with math games, and our young scientists will use inquiry-based learning for STEM labs. Arts and crafts will be incorporated throughout the entire session!

    Students will experience what it is like to create a silent movie. From script writing, acting, and choosing appropriate music, students will be collaborating together to create their own silent movie. In addition, they will have the chance to play along with a silent movie. (Improvising, composing, playing a piece they currently know how to play, and/or choosing an appropriate soundtrack). Students will also learn the history of the film music industry and popular film composers. There will be lots to listen and watch for as they figure out what soundtracks are appropriate to use in certain scenes. They will see what goes on behind the scenes in music and why it plays such a vital role in the movie industry. And so much more!

  • Page to Stage Theatre Camp

    A two-week, developmental theatre-arts camp for students in grades 5-8. Campers will play, create, collaborate, and help write their very own show. The first week will focus on the creative process and the creation of the piece, and the second week will concentrate on rehearsing and working on their show. No audition or previous theatre experience is required for participants. Showcase performance at the end.

  • Poetry Workshop (Gr. 5 & 6)

    Creative writers will enjoy this class as they learn about famous poets, experience various genres of poetry, and compose their own poetry. Students will als participate in fun games and group activities while practicing the use of figurative language and other elements of poetry. Each class will work together to create a virtual poetry museum highlighting famous poets, classic poetry and their own creations. The week will culminate with a poetry slam event.

  • Sew and Share

    Learn to use a pattern and sewing machine to make colorful, simple dresses to send to girls who might have never had a new dress of their own. Dresses will be donated to the Dress a Girl Around the World program of Hope 4 Women International. Class time may go towards community service hours.

  • Spanish Language & Culture

    Campers will immerse themselves in a fabulous week of Spanish language and culture through enriching activities of cooking, dancing, music, and language to support foundational conversations in the Spanish language.

  • Writing the College Application Essay

    Tackling the college application essay has never been this easy or efficient! By the end of the session, students will have several drafts that could be used for topics that colleges predictably assign. Busy sports and academic schedules, multiple applications, and responsibilities during the school year are fine when students can save time over the summer with an experienced St. Catherine's faculty member.

  • Saints Girls Basketball Camp 

    Under the guidance of VCU Hall of Famer and head varsity coach Ed Sherod, assistant coaches and varsity players,  you will work on all aspects of the game: shooting, ball handling, passing, rebounding and defense. Through drills and games you will learn these skills to improve your game and to learn how to continue improvement throughout the year with your own workouts.

    During this week students will learn the base technique of the shot put throw and increase their strength through weight workouts.

  • Saints Field Hockey Camp

    Acquire the skills needed to be successful at all levels of the sport – then put those skills into action on the field! Head varsity coach Kasey Gilbride, assistant coaches and varsity players will inspire campers and demonstrate the finer points of the sport. At the conclusion of camp each athlete will receive a brief outline on her performance with suggestions for improvement.

  • Saints Youth Lacrosse Camp

    Through modified skills and fun drills, campers will work on individual technique and team training to gain confidence each day of camp. Our head varsity coach Caitlin Brooks, assistant coaches and varsity players will guide the campers and inspire them to love the game.

  • Saints Middle School Lacrosse Camp

    Work on individual technique and team training to improve your lacrosse knowledge and skills under the guidance of head varsity coach Caitlin Brooks, her assistant coaches and varsity players. Each day will conclude with games to put your training into a game settings. Campers will be inspired to learn more about “the fastest game on two feet”!

  • Saints Beginner Volleyball Camp

    Learn the rules and strategies of this popular sport as you develop skills that will benefit you as an individual and a team player. Our head varsity coach, Skip Weston and our varsity players will take you through drills and games that will help you learn more about the technical details needed to serve, set, pass, block and spike.
    The camp will be held at St. Catherine's Kenny Center.
    Grades: Rising Grades 4-7, beginner - 2 years experience

  • Saints Advanced Girls Volleyball Camp

    Head varsity coach Skip Weston will help you prepare for your season tryout through advanced skill work, and defined tactical strategies for all offensive and defensive positions of the sport. Learn what it takes to be an impact volleyball player. Through drills and competitions, you’ll gain the technical experience needed to elevate your game.
    The camp will be held at St. Catherine's Kenny Center.

  • Ooey Gooey (JK-1)

    Students will tap into their inner scientists and explore the wonder of creating mixtures, such as slime and playdough. We will follow "Ooey Gooey" recipes and uncover the endless possibilities of these simple ingredients. Each day, they will take home their own distinctive creations and a recipe card to share with others.

  • Buen Viaje: Exploration of Spanish Language and Culture

    Come explore the Spanish-speaking world during this weeklong camp. Each day we will check out the culture and language from a different Latin American country, reading stories, playing games, making crafts and acting out skits to improve our speaking and listening comprehension skills. Woven into each day will be a review of fundamental vocabulary important to our Lower School Spanish curriculum, as well as exciting opportunities for taste-testing some Hispanic foods.
