Senior Student-Athlete Honored

Madison Jiranek was the week two nominee for the Lexus Leadership Award Scholarship.
     Lexus of Richmond's week two nominee for the Leadership Award Scholarship is Madison Jiranek of St. Catherine's School. Last year, she was named St. Catherine's Junior Scholar for having the highest GPA in the class with a 4.43. She has scored two perfect 5's on AP Tests was named an AP Scholar with Distinction after her junior year. As a freshman Madison ranked in the top 5% during the National Spanish Exam. Additionally, she was elected to her school's Cum Laude Society as a part of the top 10% of her class.
     A three-sport varsity athlete, Madison plays lacrosse, field hockey and indoor track. In 2017, she received St. Catherine's Athletic IMPACT Award for all three sports. Currently a lacrosse captain, Madison has received recognition such as: All LIS Team, 1st and 2nd Team All Metro, 2nd Team All State, All American and Academic All American. For her junior season in field hockey , she was named to the All LIS Team as well as the 2nd Team All State. As a part of the indoor track team, Madison won the LIS Title for 55m hurdles and was selected for the All LIS Team.
     Once off the field, Madison is highly active in her school clubs such as the math club and knitting club. She is involved in St. Catherine's Student Environmental Awareness Club or SEA as well as the Community Service League; both of which, she has been a part of since freshman year. During 11th grade, she became a peer advisor to younger students in the school to help guide them on their journey. Madison has been a writer for her school newspaper, The Arcadian, since 9th grade and now as a senior, she is an editor of the paper.
     An active participant in the community, Madison has taken part in service trips to Patagonia and the Dominican Republic, and she was involved in a service drive to help Hurricane Harvey victims. She has been an assistant coach at both the Top Dog Field Hockey Camp and at St. Catherine's Middle School Summer Lacrosse Camp. Madison has been involved in the 100 4 100 Project which raises money for less fortunate children at Christmas time. They join the children on a shopping trip to Dick's Sporting Goods where each child receives a $100 gift card to spend how they please.
