Gilbride Named Field Hockey Coach
Kasey Gilbride was named the Saints varsity field hockey coach.
Kasey Gilbride will take over as the Saints varsity field hockey coach, St. Catherine’s athletics announced on Monday.
Gilbride is a Physical Education teacher at St. Catherine’s and coached the JV field hockey team in 2021 and 2022. She is also an assistant coach for JV basketball and varsity softball. A University of Richmond graduate, Gilbride was a four-year starter for the Spiders field hockey team.
“I am most excited about the opportunity to continue to grow these relationships and help this amazing group of young women see their endless potential, on the field and in life, and achieve our goals together,” Gilbride said.
In addition to coaching with the Saints, Gilbride coaches field hockey with Panthers United, a local field hockey club, and RVA Warriors Softball. As a student-athlete at the University of Richmond, Gilbride was a two-year team captain and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory committee.
At St. Catherine’s, Gilbride hopes to develop a more cohesive Saints field hockey program, connecting all levels at the School.
“I care about the development of all of our girls, from Lower School to Middle School to Upper School, from JV to varsity and beyond,” Gilbride said. “I am invested greatly in the development of all of our student-athletes, and I look forward to cultivating a sense of unity and support at every level.”
Caitlin Brooks and Rev. Drew Johnson will continue as assistant coaches with the varsity team. The Saints ended the 2022 season with an 11-8 record, beating eventual state-champion Collegiate 3-2 in a regular season game at Dayton Field.
