Upper School and Middle School students were honored with awards.
Twelve St. Catherine's students were honored with Scholastic Writing Awards. Junior Walden Hubbard received two awards, a Silver Key for poetry and Honorable Mention for poetry. Six Middle School girls received recognition for their short stories and seven Upper School girls were recognized for a variety of writing types — short story, poetry, humor and personal essay & memoir.
A total of 553 entries were submitted in writing with 25 writing jurors from the Richmond Arts Community judging the pieces. Gold Key and Silver Key writing and art pieces will be showcased at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond Feb. 3-20.
