Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

St. Catherine's Unity group and St. Christopher's Black Student Union joined together for a special event.
St. Catherine's Upper School Unity group and St. Christopher's Black Student Union led a celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Wednesday morning in St. Christopher's Ryan Recital Hall. Senior Alexandra Walker delivered a powerful message, sharing personal stories, experiences and reflections. St. Christopher's junior EJ Seward also shared his personal journey that bought him to St. Christopher's. Students from both schools read poems and Bible verses. Sophomore Asaye Gatty performed on the piano and a group of St. Catherine's dancers formed to Rihanna's "Lift Me Up."
Following the celebration, students gathered in their advisories at St. Catherine's for conversations focused on moving forward to create thoughtful change in our School and community. They also discussed how to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. beyond just one day a year.
