Upper Schoolers Pack 40,000 Meals

Upper School students worked together on a service learning project on the first day of school.
Upper Schoolers kicked off the 2022-2023 school year by giving back to others.
The girls worked together in their advisories to pack 40,000 meals in two hours for Rise Against Hunger. They worked at different stations in the Kenny Center Monday afternoon to move the ingredients, assemble the meals and pack them for distribution.
The assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. These meal packages are shipped around the world to support school feeding programs and crisis relief. The food stores easily, transports quickly and has a shelf-life of two years.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.
