Worshiping on Ash Wednesday

St. Catherine's honored our Episcopal identity with Ash Wednesday services in all three divisions.
All three divisions recognized Ash Wednesday with chapels following the Proper Liturgy for Ash Wednesday in the Book of Common Prayer. The services were led by Rev. Becky McDaniel, School Chaplain, and Kevin Newell, Assistant Chaplain.
The entire Middle School participated in person with sixth and eighth graders in Bannard Chapel and fifth and seventh graders in Kenan-Flagler Auditorium.
Third graders joined together in Bannard Chapel while the rest of the Lower School followed the service on Zoom. Lower School teachers and students were able to receive ashes in their classrooms at McDaniel and Newell visited their rooms.
Juniors and seniors attended the service in the chapel with the rest of Upper School attending virtually.
