Learning in the Garden
First graders visit the School's community garden every week.
First graders are visiting the School's community garden again! Now through November, they will visit the garden, located across the street from the School, once a week. They will visit again in the spring.
This week the girls planted cool weather crops including lettuce, beets, brussel sprouts, cauliflower and cabbage. They also planted tulip bulbs.
Garden lessons such as mapping skills, measurement, the water cycle, composting, healthy eating, gardening and plant life cycles are incorporated into the visits.
