Important Discussions about DEI

Faculty and staff participated in breakout sessions about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
     St. Catherine's faculty and staff engaged in important conversations about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) during Monday's Professional Development Day.
     The work is part of the School's "Our Path Forward" plan to promote an equitable and inclusive school community. A variety of sessions were offered and the day included a DEI curriculum update.
     Breakout sessions included:Scenarios: Exploring and practicing strategies for responding to examples of micro-aggressions, bias, and prejudice; What is Inclusive Pedagogy?; Supporting Girls of Color in STEM and The Adultification of Black Girls. 
     Two different book discussions were held as well. The books discussed were "New Kid" by Jerry Craft and "A Good Kind of Trouble" by Lisa Moore Ramee.
