Sixth Graders Read 6,288 books

Sixth graders took on the 25 book challenge during the school year.
Sixty-two sixth graders completed the 25 book challenge this school year. The girls read a total of 6,288 books! Stella McCormack led the pack with an impressive 532 books read this school year.
Books with more than 200 pages counted as two books, books over 300 pages counted as three books, etc. There was no minimum as sixth grade English teacher Shelly Dean wanted to promote "student choice in free reading, so they can read long books, short books, whatever."
The top 10 readers in the class were: McCormack (532), Caelan DiCosmo (426), Ali Kirsner (340), Asra Ali (330), Laila Patel (246), Annie Bosher (210), Kara Finley (192), Darcy Gates (185), Sarah Ambrogi (181) and AC Seibert (165).
