Upper Schoolers Show Support For Local Healthcare Workers
Three Upper School clubs raised money for meals and made a 16-foot sign to thank local healthcare workers.
STCMed, Upper School Student Council and Service League led efforts to raise more than $700 and then partnered with local restaurant Palani Drive to deliver 70 meals for health care workers at nearby St. Mary's Hospital.
The students also created signs of support and thanks that were combined into one large 16-foot sign that is on display in the hospital.
"The gifts (the students) shared with our hospital staff made a lasting impact, especially the 16-foot sign," said Lisa Patten, Executive Director, Evelyn D. Reinhart Guest House at Bon Secours, St. Mary’s Hospital.
"I have received so many nice comments about the sign. One note came from an overnight nurse who said she was so tired walking in for her evening shift, but when she saw the sign her energy went through the roof. In her words, it restored her faith!"
