Saints Win Swim/Dive State Title

St. Catherine's and St. Christopher's both won state titles on Saturday.
Saints swimming and diving started the season with the theme #OTOG — One Team One Goal.
And that team, actually two teams, made it happen on Saturday. Both St. Catherine's and St. Christopher's both one their respective VISAA Swim and Dive Championships in Christiansburg.
"All season, these swimmers and divers worked hard and focused on doing the small things correctly, and it was such a joy to watch all that hard work pay off," Saints coach Bucka Watson said.
"Furthermore, they proved again that the Saints are at their best when swimming and diving for something greater than themselves. Each of them put the team first this weekend, just like they did all season, and supported each other through the very last dive and race. To the coaches, this is what matters most and what makes us the most proud."
Junior Charlotte Wishnack was the state champion in the 100 breaststroke. Senior Chandler Kerkam finished third in divining. The 200-meter freestyle relate team of Tess Deyerle, Maddie Bowles, Elizabeth Goodwin-Birnie and Grace Perkins finished second for St. Catherine's.
