Students Honored with Writing Awards

Twenty-five students earned recognition in the Scholastic Writing Awards. 
     St. Catherine's received a total of 25 recognitions in the Scholastic Writing Awards.
     Earlier this month, 19 writing jurors and 15 moderators evaluated the 371 writing entries from the Richmond area.
     From the Middle School, 21 eighth graders were honored and four Upper Schoolers were honored. Eighth graders Lauren Blake, Walden Hubbard and Kathryn Price received Gold Keys. The Gold Key winners will be judged in New York and the National Awards will be announced in March.
     Over the past 90 years, the Awards have recognized and encouraged artists and writers such as Sylvia Plath, Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Robert Redford, Tom Otterness, Zac Posen, among countless others.
