Portrait of Innovation: Virginia Randolph Ellett

Miss Jennie was revealed during the Girls Innovate event.
Richmond artist Noah Scalin came to campus to create a special commission art project as part of Girls Innovate. He utilized the 1,012 pounds of donated clothing and shoes from the School community to create an anamorphic portrait in the likeness of Miss Jennie.
The complete project took place in the Kenny Center over two days with students and faculty participating as assistants. Miss Jennie's face includes 1,265 pieces of clothing and shoes. At the conclusion of the project, the clothing and shoes were dismantled and will be donated to Soles for Souls, an organization that works manages micro-enterprise operations in 127 countries. The art project was revealed this morning at Girls Innovate, a special event for nearly 1,000 girls in grades 4-12 from schools all across Richmond.
