Richmond Times-Dispatch: St. Catherine's Jailah Channer leads championship run

Saints win third consecutive VISAA state track title.
Jailah Channer, a junior at St. Catherine’s, took home three titles at Saturday’s state meet. She won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.45 seconds, then came back and won the 200-meter dash in 25.65. She also won the long jump with a distance of 17-06.25.
Saints junior Willa Shannon claimed the title in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.01, and also won the 300-meter hurdles in 44.03.
Collegiate took the 4X100 relay, with Ashley D’Ambrosia, Lauren Lucy, Chandler Eddleton and Caliyah Bennett running for the Cougars.
 
In the 4X400, it was St. Catherine’s claiming gold with Hampton Turton, Hannah Ballow, Willa Shannon, and Alli Boehm.
The Saints also won the 4X800 relay, with Abby Armstrong, Blair Workman, Eliza Woodfin and Charlotte Dudley running.
In the field events, Collegiate’s Eliza Stone claimed the high jump at 5-02, St. Catherine’s freshman Anjali Mead won the pole vault with 11-09 and Saints senior Parker Longood won the triple jump with 34-04.75.
In the Division II competition, Lydia Worden of Veritas won the long jump with a distance of 16-08.75, and also claimed the triple jump at 35-08.50.
 
On the boys side, Collegiate’s Liam Bellamy won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.87, and St. Christopher’s Jayden Smith won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.93.
The Cougars also took gold in the 4X800 relay, with Sam Hart, Johnny White, Will Neuner and Liam Bellamy competing.
In the high jump, it was St. Christopher’s Elby Omohundro winning with a length of 6-04.00. He also won the triple jump with a 47-02.25.
John Colizzi of Benedictine won the long jump with a 23-02.00.
