Times-Dispatch: St. Catherine's claims ninth straight LIS track title

The Saints won the league title in track. 
     St. Catherine’s cruised to a ninth consecutive League of Independent Schools title and St. Christopher’s claimed victory in the Prep League, marking another track and field sweep for the Saints on Saturday at St. Christopher’s.
     St. Catherine’s scored 201 points. Collegiate finished second in the LIS meet with 126.5.
     Jailah Channer was named the overall MVP for the Saints, winning the 100-meter dash, long jump and anchoring the first-place 4x100-meter relay team. Hannah Ballowe was named the runner of the meet after winning the 1,600 and 800. Willa Shannon added victories in the 100-meter hurdles, 300 hurdles and 200-meter dash.
     Veritas’ Katherine Pierre-Louis was a co-MVP in the field events after winning the shot put.
     In the Prep League meet, St. Christopher’s totaled 137 points to runner-up Collegiate’s 105.
     Elby Omohundro, the All-Metro indoor track athlete of the year in the winter, was named both the field events and overall MVP. He was the third leg in the winning 4x100-meter relay team and individually won the long jump and triple jump.
Collegiate’s Liam Bellamy was the runner of the meet, claiming the 800-meter title and boosting the Cougars in a pair of winning relays.
