Five Students Earn Girl Scout Gold Award

Five Upper School girls were recognized with the highest achievement in Girl Scouts.
Five St. Catherine's Upper School students recently received their Gold Awards in Girl Scouts. Seniors Lacey Thompson and Madison Gardner (pictured) attended the ceremony. Seniors Caroline Lynch and Brucie Mish and junior Katie Merritt also earned the Gold Award.
Gold Award Girl Scouts spend between one and two years on their projects to earn the honor. Since 1916, the Gold Award (which has been known by other names over the years) marks the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.
According to Girls Scouts, "The Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through remarkable Take Action projects that have sustainable impact in their communities-and beyond."
