Eighth Graders Present FutureMakers Projects

Students showcased interdisciplinary before Spring Break.
Eighth graders showcased their FutureMakers projects to students, teachers and invited guest experts before Spring Break.
This student-run forum is an interdisciplinary, data-driven project created by eighth grade math teacher Brett Degnan. Each student researched a topic of her choice, used Algebra skills to predict the future, and presented her findings to community members whose careers align with her chosen topic.
Before the presentations, John Martin, a nationally recognized futurist from the RVA consulting firm SIR, gave the girls insights into what their future will hold in five years, ten years and 3O years.
