School Awarded Computer Science Female Diversity Award

St. Catherine's was awarded the first College Board AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award. St. Catherine's is the only school in Richmond to receive the award and one of just 11 in Virginia.
The College Board is honoring schools who reached 50 percent or higher female representation in either of the two AP computer science courses in 2018. Among 18,000 schools worldwide that offer AP courses, St. Catherine's is one of only 685 to earn the award.
The College Board's AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award "recognizes schools that are closing the gender gap and engaging more female students in computer science coursework in AP Computer Science Principles or AP Computer Science A." AP Computer Science A is offered to St. Catherine's students in Upper School.
