Upper Schoolers Pack 40,000 Pounds of Potatoes

Local food banks benefitted from the sweet potatoes.
Upper School girls packed 40,000 pounds of sweet potatoes Wednesday afternoon for Feedmore and other local food banks, including some from Goochland, Farmville and Colonial Heights. The potatoes were delivered from Tull Hill Farms in Kinston, N.C.
The potatoes were dropped in the parking lot of St. Stephen's Church and the girls then packed the sweet potatoes into 10-pound bags. Local food banks picked up the bags for their own distribution.
The School worked with the Society of St. Andrew's on this project. Seniors Abby Craig, Lacey Thompson and Eliza Wilson worked with other Service League members and Rev. Drew Johnson to make this project a success.
