Upper School Students Assemble Bags for Trafficking Victims

The Hope Bags will be distributed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Ninth and tenth graders recently assembled 40 Hope Bags for child sex trafficking victims. The bags will be given to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who will then distribute the bags to the victims.
Upper School students gathered the items for the bags during a shopping trip to Target. They then assembled each bag.
The Hope Bags provide survivors with basic items they need for those first few hours and days after they are recovered. The bags include toiletries, snacks, age-appropriate change clothing and food gift cards.
St. Catherine’s alumna Yiota Souras ‘88 is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and worked with the School on this project. Souras spoke with St. Catherine’s and St. Christopher’s Upper School students as part of the Camp Speaker Series.
