Four eighth graders advanced to the state-level MATHCOUNTS competition. They qualified for the level by earning top scores during the chapter level competition - which includes Richmond and Fredericksburg regions.
The four eighth graders who competed at the state level were Vier Julien, Annie Bosher, Paxton Raymond and Olivia Garitz. Gartiz finished third overall in the Chapter Competition. MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide middle school mathematics competition held in various places in the United States.
