Robotics Team Earns First Place

The fifth and sixth grade students earned the award for teamwork at the state competition held at JMU.
     St. Catherine’s Middle School robotics team, GIRLS, won the first place award for teamwork at the VA/DC FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament held at JMU over the weekend!
     This year's theme is Into Orbit. The St. Catherine's fifth and sixth graders are working on solutions to improve sleep for astronauts.
     GIRLS team members:
     Fifth graders: Kara Finley, AnneClare Fonville and Regan McNulty
     Sixth graders: Emma Dixon, Emily Levy, Madigan Lucas, Claire Tobin, Scarlett Townsend, Lucy Wootton and Lilla Yonce
     The team is coached by Middle School science teachers Cindy Beausang and Katherine Mangum.
