About:

I grew up in Franklin, VA, and spent my high school years in Suffolk, VA. However, I've lived in Richmond for about 16 years, so this truly feels like home. I graduated from JMU with my undergraduate degree and earned my master’s in accountancy from UGA. Currently, I’m a Director at a hospitality real estate investment trust based in Richmond, which owns over 200 hotels across 37 states. It’s an interesting, fast-paced, and ever-changing career—something you don’t often say about accounting jobs! In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, planning vacations, and spending time with my family. We’re currently on a mission to visit as many National Parks as possible, which means a lot of vacation planning! I love sharing our experiences with St. Catherine’s, especially as a family that approached the private school search without any particular ties. Please feel free to connect with me!

My daughter's hobbies/interests:

My second grader enjoys ballet, gymnastics, swimming, art, reading, and all things Harry Potter. My Kindergartener enjoys ballet, gymnastics, golf, tennis, and art (which means cutting paper into tiny pieces - ha).

Things we enjoy doing as a family:

We enjoy playing board games and card games, reading together, adventuring around Richmond, going out to eat, and exploring new towns on weekend trips.

Favorite St. Catherine's tradition or memory:

My favorite tradition is Puttin' on the Hits at Daisy Days. Each class performs a dance in coordinating outfits, and the first time I saw the event, I realized how unique these experiences are to an all-girls school. I was particularly amazed to see the shy JK girls blossom on stage. The confidence and personality the girls showcase during Puttin' on the Hits truly resonates with me every year.

Why we chose St. Catherine's:

Going into the admissions process, I didn't expect that single-sex education would be our choice. However, the more we learned about St. Catherine’s, the more it felt like the right fit for our oldest daughter. The administration truly understands how girls learn and what girls need to be prepared for the future—something I honestly hadn’t considered until we were deep into the admissions process. We ultimately chose St. Catherine’s because of this understanding, which made us feel that our girls were seen and cared for from the very beginning. We also felt welcomed into the community right away, despite having no prior connection to the school before my oldest started JK. Since joining this community, I’ve found that everything I learned during the admissions process has proven true. I appreciate how the teachers and administration knowing my girls fosters a sense of belonging and positively influences their education.
