Seventh grade English teacher Sarah Sobon was inducted into the Washington College Athletic Hall of Fame along with her field hockey teammates over the weekend. Sobon was previously inducted as an individual athlete in 2010.
The first All-American in Washington College field hockey history, Sarah Sobon helped lead the Shorewomen to their first-ever conference championship and their first two NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
A midfielder, Sarah earned All-Centennial Conference second-team honors as a freshman in 1994 after scoring two goals and recording four assists. The following season, she netted four goals and two assists and was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team.
Kindergarten teachers Maddy Hargis and Caroline Kilby traveled to Germany over the summer as a part of the 2018 Summer Study Abroad program developed by the University of Richmond Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) program.
