St. Catherine's field hockey coach Don Warner will go to Houston next month to coach in the 2016 AAU Junior Olympics. He was one of eight coaches selected for the event, which bills itself as the largest multi-sport event for youth in the United States.
More than 12,000 athletes in 24 sports will compete. In field hockey, eight U16 teams will participate.
Warner is entering his 21st year as a physical education teacher and field hockey coach at St. Catherine's.
He's making a habit of going around the globe for field hockey. This spring, he went to Australia to compete in the International Hockey Federation Masters World Cup in the over-50 division.
